Community mourns the loss of Logan Kozlowski in Lynchburg car accident

Logan Kozlowski was killed in a car accident
LYNCHBURG, Va (Accident.NEWS) — The Hill City community is coming together after a tragic car accident took the life of three-year-old Logan Kozlowski on April 18th. The accident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in a parking lot off Beverly Hills Circle.
Family, friends, and loved ones gathered at Timberlake Church on Wednesday evening to mourn their loss together. The prayer service was live-streamed on Facebook for the community to view. One speaker at the service said, “This evening is an opportunity to weep, to hug, to laugh. To ask why, Lord why, did this happen?”
Logan’s aunt, Brittany, also shared some words at the service. “We are so thankful for everything. The messages, my sister has read every single one of them,” said Brittany. “Then, of course, all the prayers, and the visits, and everything. Thank you so much.”
Rustburg Dixie Youth Baseball is also doing what they can to honor Kozlowski. They held a moment of silence and a prayer before their Wednesday evening games and will do so again before their Thursday games.
Harvest Outreach Center is offering free counseling services for anyone impacted by this tragedy, starting April 20th through the end of the month.
Following the heartbreaking incident, Accident.NEWS spoke with mental health expert, Shiloh Martin, about how to talk to kids about tragedy and help them through a difficult time like this. Martin emphasized that not all children are going to respond the same way to tragedy and that it is okay if they process it differently than others. Adding that in all cases, if a child or parent is struggling, they should not hesitate to reach out for professional help.
The family has set up a GoFundMe as well as a Meal Train to help them through these difficult times.
