Crash Involving Semi-Truck Closes Eastbound Interstate 10 near Tonopah

The eastbound side of Interstate 10 near Tonopah has been reopened following a crash involving a semi-truck on Thursday afternoon. According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at 411th Avenue when a semi-truck driver potentially jackknifed and collided with two other cars.
While DPS confirmed that there are serious injuries resulting from the accident, they did not provide further details regarding the extent or nature of these injuries. The closure lasted for approximately two and a half hours before authorities were able to reopen the eastbound lanes. At its peak, traffic congestion stretched back for about 19 miles due to this closure.
Fortunately, the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 remained unaffected by this incident. Currently, an investigation into the crash is underway as officials work to determine what led to this unfortunate collision.
