Crash Involving Semi-Truck and Pick-Up Slows Traffic in Winona County

A crash involving a semi-truck and pick-up truck caused traffic delays in Winona County on Friday morning. The State Patrol, along with other agencies, responded to the accident that occurred along Hwy. 14 east of Utica at around 5:45 a.m.
Limited information is currently available about the incident. According to the state crash report, a 2010 Freightliner milk truck was traveling north from County Rd. 18 to County Rd. 33 when it collided with a pick-up truck heading west on Hwy. 14 at the intersection.
The identities of both drivers have not been released yet, but preliminary findings indicate that they were the only occupants in their respective vehicles. The truck driver is described as a 68-year-old man from Hokah, while the pick-up driver is identified as a 37-year-old Winona man.
Although it has been confirmed that this was an injury crash, it remains unclear whether one or both drivers sustained injuries during the collision.
The State Patrol intends to provide further details regarding the crash later tonight.
As a result of this accident, part of County Rd. 33 had to be closed temporarily and significant traffic congestion occurred on Hwy. 14. However, authorities have now cleared the crash scene.
In addition to the State Patrol and Winona County Sheriff's Office, other emergency responders including St. Charles Police Department, Lewiston Fire Department, and Lewiston EMS also attended to assist at the scene of this collision.
