Crash in Longs, South Carolina Damages Utility Pole and Causes Road Closure

A crash involving two vehicles, including a log truck, has caused significant damage to a utility pole and knocked down some power lines near Longs in Horry County. As a result, the affected roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time while authorities work to clean up the scene and make necessary repairs.
According to Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR), the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of N. Highway 905 and Blanton Circle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
Emergency crews are currently on-site addressing several issues stemming from the crash. This includes cleaning up a fuel spill that occurred during the accident as well as repairing the damaged utility pole and restoring utilities in the area.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has launched an investigation into this incident to determine its cause and any potential contributing factors.
Residents and motorists are advised to avoid this section of roadway until further notice due to ongoing cleanup efforts and repair work being carried out by authorities.
