Authorities Close Portion of Antelope Road in Citrus Heights After Deadly Accident
In a tragic incident, a portion of Antelope Road in Citrus Heights, California has been closed down by authorities following a deadly accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District confirmed the crash and stated that several utility poles and a traffic light were damaged.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:19 p.m., with police officers arriving at the scene shortly after. They discovered a pedestrian on the sidewalk who, despite their efforts, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, the driver of the car involved in the collision was found unharmed.
To facilitate investigations into this unfortunate event, the eastbound lanes of Antelope Road have been closed by the Citrus Heights Police Department. The closure spans from west of Auburn Boulevard to east of Lauppe Lane. At present, it remains uncertain when these lanes will be reopened to traffic.
Authorities are currently working to determine what led up to this fatal crash.
