Woman killed, man and infant taken to hospital
New details have emerged regarding a tragic car crash that occurred on Tuesday evening on Interstate 80 in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. According to state police, the accident took place in Bradford Township and resulted in the death of a woman.
The victims have been identified as a 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman from Lorton, Virginia. They were traveling eastbound on I-80 with an infant seated in a rear-facing child seat. At approximately 4:48 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle due to wet road conditions, causing it to spin out.
As a result of the spin-out, the car veered off the north side of the road and collided with a guide rail before rolling over. Tragically, during this sequence of events, the woman was partially ejected from the vehicle and became pinned underneath it.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, but despite their efforts to save her life, authorities pronounced Nirali Bhatt dead at the scene due to fatal injuries sustained during this horrific incident. It has been reported that she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of impact.
Meanwhile, both men involved in this tragedy received medical attention following their rescue by emergency personnel. The man driving suffered possible injuries while any potential harm inflicted upon their infant remains unknown at this time. However,it is worth noting that both individuals were properly secured with seat belts.
State police are currently investigating further details surrounding this devastating crash but no additional information has been released thus far.
