Car collides with tractor-trailer in deadly crash on Cross Bronx Expressway
A fatal accident occurred on the Cross Bronx Expressway early Wednesday morning when a white BMW collided with a tractor-trailer near Nelson Avenue. The incident happened at around 1:45 a.m. and resulted in the death of the passenger inside the BMW. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports, the BMW was attempting to pass the tractor-trailer when the collision occurred. The 19-year-old driver of the car suffered minor injuries, while the tractor-trailer driver was unharmed.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but excessive speed is being considered as a possible factor. The identities of the driver and the victim have not yet been released.
The incident caused a temporary closure of the Cross Bronx Expressway, leading to traffic congestion in the area. The road has since been reopened.
