Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Crash on Interstate 4 in Orange County

A tragic accident occurred early Tuesday morning on Interstate 4 near State Road 536, resulting in the closure of a section of the highway. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck at approximately 1:25 a.m.
According to FHP investigators, the semi-truck was traveling westbound with two trailers when it collided with the pedestrian. The incident took place as the truck approached mile marker 67. Sadly, the pedestrian walked directly into its path and died at the scene. The victim has been identified as an Orlando resident, aged 61.
The driver of the truck, a 52-year-old from Saint Cloud, remained unharmed and stayed at the crash site following the collision. FHP confirmed that they are currently investigating this tragic event.
Earlier reports indicated that all westbound lanes of I-4 were closed in this area near Lake Buena Vista due to the crash. Traffic was being diverted off I-4 at exit 67 while authorities worked to clear up and investigate what happened.
