Matthew Marley Dies in Tipton County Crash

Matthew Marley died from his injuries, second pickup truck driver's condition is stable, 17-year-old driver had minor injuries
Indiana State Police detectives are investigating a deadly crash that occurred on Monday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 28 and County Road 1050 West in Tipton County. The accident involved four vehicles, including two pickup trucks pulling anhydrous tanks, a semi-truck driven by Matthew Marley of Rossville, and a Volkswagen driven by a 17-year-old.
According to preliminary investigations, the two pickup trucks were traveling westbound on State Road 28 when the Volkswagen attempted to pass them. The car sideswiped the first pickup truck and collided with Marley's eastbound semi-truck. As a result of this collision, Marley lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into the second pickup truck before landing on top of it.
The driver of the second pickup truck was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment but is said to be stable. Unfortunately, Marley died from his injuries after being transported to another hospital in Indianapolis.
The driver of the Volkswagen sustained minor injuries and was taken to IU Tipton Hospital for treatment while the first pickup truck driver escaped unharmed. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have played any role in causing this fatal accident.
