Western Boulevard near North Carolina State University was closed on Monday evening due to a collision and an ongoing death investigation. The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. along Western Boulevard near Varsity Drive.
At the scene, one car displayed significant front-end damage. The Raleigh Police Department confirmed that a separate death investigation is currently underway at the location; however, they did not disclose whether a pedestrian was involved in the collision.
In response to the situation, Raleigh police issued a news release at approximately 6:45 p.m., stating that Western Boulevard at Varsity Drive would remain closed as investigations continue.
