Driver Arrested in Long Beach Donut Crash That Killed Jacqueline Zamarripa

Jacqueline Zamarripa was ejected from the truck and killed

On Sunday, Long Beach Police announced that the driver accused of killing a woman while doing donuts in the middle of the street had been taken into custody. The suspect, 20-year-old Saul Alfas, walked into Long Beach Police Headquarters and turned himself in.

The incident occurred on Friday night at Willow Street and Caspian Avenue. According to officers, Alfas was performing donuts in the middle of the street when he collided with a Chevy Silverado. The impact caused the truck to crash into a nearby tree and ejected its passenger, 21-year old Jacqueline Zamarripa who died as a result of her injuries.

Alfas has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and is currently being held on $100,000 bail. This tragic event serves as yet another reminder for drivers to exercise caution while behind the wheel and avoid reckless behavior that can lead to devastating consequences.
