Police Seek Driver of Stolen Car That Crashed into Daycare Center in Lancaster

Police in Lancaster are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of a stolen car that crashed into two vehicles and the porch railing of Univision Daycare Center on April 4. The black, convertible 2003 Ford Mustang GT was reported stolen in Columbia, Lancaster County, on the same day as the crash. The driver fled the scene after the accident.

The crash occurred before 8 p.m. after the driver sped down West King Street, according to police. Surveillance video captured the moments just after the accident. The video shows the driver exiting the vehicle and fleeing the scene. Officers and residents hope sharing the video will eventually lead to an arrest.

"We came out. There was no one around. A guy said they saw someone run down the street," said Luke, who lives nearby and owns one of the vehicles hit. "It's still like that. There's no getting it fixed. I don't have the money for it and obviously because it was a stolen car, the driver or the owner of the vehicle isn't responsible for it," he said.

No one was injured during the accident and the stolen property has been recovered. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

"If you see something suspicious, say something! It was still light out when this car was stolen," Luke said.
