The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has released new information about a crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon on Route 222. According to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber, the driver, identified as James Stokes, 77, of Conestoga, Lancaster County, suffered "a fatal cardiac event behind the wheel."
The incident happened in the northbound lanes of Route 222 around 3:50 p.m. in Ephrata Township. The car went off the road and rolled in the median. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
