Driver dies in single-car crash in Merced

A fatal car crash occurred in Merced late Thursday night, resulting in the death of the driver. According to reports from California Highway Patrol, the incident took place just after 11 pm on Bear Creek Drive at Parsons Avenue.
The driver was allegedly involved in a previous accident before losing control of his vehicle while driving west on Bear Creek. He veered to the right and crashed into multiple trees, causing his car to become fully engulfed in flames.
Tragically, he was declared dead at the scene and no one else was present during the accident. The identity of the deceased has not been released yet.
It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this tragedy. Further investigations are ongoing as authorities work towards determining what caused this fatal crash.
