The Huntsville Police Department is currently searching for a driver who fled on foot after causing a seven-vehicle wreck that resulted in one death and five injuries. The incident occurred at around 2 am on Saturday morning near Highway 53 and Research Park Blvd.
According to the authorities, Jackie Jones, aged 57, was identified as the person who lost their life in the accident while riding a motorcycle. Five other individuals were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by HESMI.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash fled from the scene on foot and is still not in custody at this time. The HPD has requested anyone with information about this incident to contact them immediately at 256-722-7100.
