Driver Injured in Tuscaloosa Truck Crash

Driver hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. HAZMAT team sent to clean up spilled fuel.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department has closed a section of Skyland Boulevard between Hargrove Road East and the interstate due to a commercial vehicle wreck. The accident occurred when an 18-wheeler overturned while exiting the interstate, resulting in the temporary closure of the exit ramp from the northbound lanes of the interstate.
The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue has sent its HAZMAT team to the scene to clean up spilled fuel.
According to Tuscaloosa Police Department, the accident occurred on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at around 2:05 pm CT. The police department has not released any further information about the cause of the accident.
The accident has caused significant traffic delays in the area, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible. The Tuscaloosa Police Department has not yet announced when the road will be reopened.
