Driver Killed in Crash Involving Two Semis in Gratiot Co., Michigan

The driver of the other semi and his passenger were not injured. The intersection was closed for more than eight hours for the investigation and clean-up.

A tragic accident occurred on Thursday, June 29, resulting in the death of a semi-truck driver. The incident took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of E. Lincoln Road and Wisner Road in Emerson Township, Gratiot County.

According to the Gratiot County Sheriff's Office, one semi was traveling eastbound when it failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another semi that was heading southbound. The impact of the collision proved fatal for the driver of the eastbound semi, identified as 42-year-old Bardybek Sultanov from Philadelphia.

Authorities confirmed that Sultanov succumbed to his injuries sustained during the crash. Fortunately, both the driver and passenger of the other semi emerged unharmed from this devastating incident.

Due to its severity, investigations were conducted by law enforcement officials which resulted in an extended closure of more than eight hours at the intersection for cleanup purposes.
