Driver Killed in Head-On Crash in Lancaster County

Driver of the SUV died, driver of the tree-trimming truck was not hurt
A fatal head-on crash occurred on Monday afternoon in Lancaster County, resulting in the death of a driver. The incident took place around 3:45 p.m. on Beaver Valley Pike near Penn Grant Road in West Lampeter Township.
According to the West Lampeter Township police, a maroon Honda SUV towing a small trailer was traveling south on Beaver Valley Pike when it crossed the center line into oncoming traffic just south of the intersection with Penn Grant Road. At that moment, a tree-trimming truck pulling a wood chipper was heading north on Beaver Valley Pike. The two vehicles collided in the northbound lane due to the SUV's intrusion into opposing traffic.
The impact of the collision caused the driver of the SUV to be ejected from their vehicle. Tragically, they succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The deceased has been identified as Jesse Drobnak, aged 33, by the Lancaster County Coroner's Office.
Fortunately, no harm befell the driver of the tree-trimming truck involved in this devastating accident.
In their statement regarding this incident, local law enforcement stated that both vehicles sustained extensive damage and required significant efforts for removal and recovery. "The truck had to be uprighted and removed from a nearby corn field," added police officials.
Following necessary investigations and cleanup operations at the crash site, authorities were able to reopen Beaver Valley Pike between Penn Grant Road and Fieldcrest Drive after approximately five hours of closure.
