Driver killed in high-speed crash in Gardena

The Kia driver was pronounced dead, and the condition of the Mercedes driver has not been made public.
A driver has died after their speeding vehicle collided with a stopped car in Gardena on Thursday evening, according to the local police department. The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. near Hawthorne, where two vehicles were found with "major collision damage." The white Kia was traveling north on Crenshaw Boulevard when it hit a black Mercedes-Benz that had stopped at a red light. Although footage from the scene shows that the Mercedes was compact, no information about the Kia's model is available yet.
Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment; however, the Kia driver was pronounced dead upon arrival. Their identity has not been released yet, and there is no update regarding the condition of the other driver.
