Driver Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Aurora

A tragic three-vehicle crash in Aurora on Tuesday morning has left one driver dead. The incident occurred at the intersection of 11th Avenue and Piccadilly Street around 7:30 a.m., according to the Aurora Police Department (APD).
The collision involved a Kenworth dump truck and two other vehicles. APD's preliminary investigation suggests that a man driving a Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on 11th Avenue when he attempted to make a left turn onto Piccadilly Street. This maneuver resulted in an unfortunate collision with another man who was operating the dump truck, heading southbound on Picadilly Street.
As a result of the impact, the dump truck veered into the northbound lanes and crashed into yet another vehicle. Tragically, the driver of this third vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Following the accident, authorities closed off both directions of Piccadilly Street for approximately four hours while they conducted investigations and cleared debris from the roadway.
The APD's Traffic Investigation Unit is currently looking into all aspects surrounding this incident. They are urging anyone who may have witnessed or captured dashcam footage related to this crash to come forward with information by contacting Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
At present, authorities have not released any details regarding the deceased driver pending notification of next-of-kin. The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will be responsible for determining both identification and cause of death.
