Driver of Ford Escape Injured in Collision with Semi Truck

Driver of the Escape was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. No injuries were reported in the second accident.
One Injured in Collision with Semi Truck in North Platte
A collision involving a semi truck and a Ford Escape resulted in one person being taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon in North Platte, Nebraska.
According to North Platte police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Walker Road and South Jeffers Street. The Paulsen Inc. semi truck and pup was traveling west on Walker Road when a southbound Ford Escape ran the red light, causing the collision. The impact caused the Escape to go into the ditch.
While the driver of the semi truck was unharmed, the driver of the Escape was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
In addition to the collision between the semi truck and the Ford Escape, police reported that distracted driving caused a second accident between a Buick Enclave and a Pontiac Grand Am. The Buick ran into the back of the Pontiac, but no injuries were reported.
A trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol helped divert traffic while the scene was cleared.
The incident serves as a reminder to always remain alert and focused while driving, especially at intersections.
