Driver Hospitalized After Violent Crash into Guardrail in Anaheim

Driver hospitalized in unknown condition
A driver was hospitalized after a violent crash into a freeway guardrail in Anaheim on Saturday. The California Highway Patrol responded to the incident on the 91 Freeway near the 57 junction at around 3:16 a.m.
Upon arriving, authorities discovered that "the vehicle had struck a guardrail that had pierced through the driver’s side window," according to reports. The force of impact caused significant damage, with "the sheer force of the guardrail smashed into the driver’s side door and pushed the driver’s seat all the way into the backseat area."
Images from the scene show that "the vehicle's front chassis was completely destroyed, with [the] guardrail entangled among deployed airbags and debris." Despite this extensive damage, officers found that "the driver alive and able to speak" following their arrival.
The woman was transported to an unknown local hospital for treatment; her current condition is also unknown. Authorities have yet to determine what caused this accident but have indicated it is miraculous she survived given how severe it appears.
