Driver Suspected of DUI Causes Major Traffic Delay on Hwy 101 in Healdsburg

A driver towing a trailer is suspected of driving under the influence and causing a "major" traffic delay on Highway 101 in Healdsburg on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. when reports of an accident came pouring in.
Upon arrival at the scene, CHP discovered an overturned truck and trailer in the southbound lanes of Hwy 101. It was determined that the truck driver had been attempting to pass a slower-moving vehicle when they lost control of their vehicle. As a result, both the truck and trailer rolled over. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in this incident.
Law enforcement officers quickly suspected that the truck driver was operating their vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Consequently, they promptly arrested him at the scene for suspicion of DUI. Thankfully, despite causing such chaos on the highway, neither he nor anyone else sustained any injuries as a result of this crash.
The accident caused significant traffic delays along Highway 101 during Monday morning rush hour as authorities worked diligently to clear up debris from the overturned truck and trailer. Commuters faced lengthy delays until normal traffic flow could be restored.
