Hector Beltran was killed, two others were taken to the hospital

New Mexico State Police have reported that 22-year-old Jonathan Lujan was driving under the influence when he crashed into a family's car on I-25 near Isleta Pueblo last Friday night. The accident occurred when Lujan rear-ended a pickup truck, causing it to roll over.

The driver of the truck, 66-year-old Hector Beltran, tragically lost his life in the crash. Beltran's two passengers, a 39-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were both taken to hospital with unknown conditions at this time.

According to police reports, alcohol and speed appear to be factors in this fatal incident. Shockingly, this is not Lujan's first DWI offense; he was previously charged just two months ago. Last week, a judge had ruled that he could not consume alcohol.

Lujan has been arrested and booked into jail where he faces multiple charges including homicide by vehicle. This story is still developing.
