Dump truck overturns, spills fuel in Southeast DC

Hazmat crews worked overnight to clean up a fuel spill caused by an overturned dump truck in Southeast D.C. The incident occurred at the intersection of Minnesota and Pennsylvania avenues SE around 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, according to DC Fire and EMS.
The dump truck spilled fuel onto the street, causing damage to other vehicles in the area. In addition, much of the truck's load was scattered across the road. Hazmat crews were called to contain and clean up the spill.
DC Fire and EMS reported that the driver of the dump truck had left the scene before emergency responders arrived. It is unclear if there were any injuries as a result of this incident.
As of Friday morning, crews were still working on cleaning up debris from the accident site. Commuters are advised to avoid this area until further notice as traffic delays are expected due to ongoing cleanup efforts.
