Family Mourns Loss of Shane and Jakob Lloyd in Suspected Impaired-Driving Crash

A tragic car crash in Orlando, Florida has left a family from Windsor, Colorado devastated. Shane Lloyd and Jakob Lloyd were killed on Sunday afternoon in a suspected impaired-driving incident while attending college orientation. The duo, known for their caring nature and strong family bonds, are being mourned by their loved ones.
The suspect involved in the crash is 40-year-old Leslie Gehret who survived with minor injuries before being taken into custody at a Florida jail. Gehret has a criminal record that includes previous impaired driving arrests.
According to authorities in Florida, the Lloyds were legally turning through an intersection when Gehret ran a red light at high speed and crashed into their vehicle. Jakob was pronounced dead at the scene while Shane was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Jakob recently graduated from Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins and had aspirations of becoming either a lawyer or forensic chemist. He chose to attend college in Florida partly because he enjoyed wearing shorts regardless of how cold it was outside.
Shane was remembered as a protective yet gentle brother, uncle, father, and husband who had been married for over two decades.
