One Person Dead in Tolleson Collision

The accident has since been cleared and all traffic in the area is back open.
Late Thursday night, a collision between a passenger car and semi-truck resulted in the death of one person on Interstate 10 in Tolleson. The Arizona Department of Public Safety received a call about the accident around 11:10 p.m. near 83rd Avenue.
As a result of the crash, eastbound I-10 near Loop 101 had to be closed by troopers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Additionally, on-ramps for both 99th and 91st avenues were also closed during the investigation process. The interchange to eastbound I-10 at Loop 101 was also shut down.
Fortunately, all traffic has since been reopened as officials cleared up the scene after completing their investigations into what led to this fatal accident.
At present, it is unknown whether speeding or impairment played any role in causing this collision. Officials have not yet released any information regarding the identity of the deceased individual.
