70-year-old Gary Amburgey killed in Knott County accident

Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Knott County over the weekend. According to reports, at approximately 11:15 AM on Saturday morning, officials received a call regarding a single vehicle accident with injuries. The incident took place on KY-1393 in the Mallie community.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Gary Amburgey who was traveling southbound when a tree fell onto the roadway and hit his vehicle. Sadly, Amburgey was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knott County coroner.

As of now, Kentucky State Police have not released any further information about this tragic event. However, an investigation into what caused the tree to fall is currently ongoing.
