22-Year-Old Justin Francisco Killed in Major Deegan Expressway Crash

Police in New York have reported a tragic accident on the Major Deegan Expressway that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man. The incident occurred early Sunday morning and resulted in four other individuals being hospitalized.
The Kingsbridge section of the Bronx was thrown into chaos as the Deegan had to be closed for several hours following the horrific crash. The aftermath left behind debris and mangled cars, painting a grim picture of the tragedy that unfolded.
Eyewitnesses described seeing numerous police vehicles rushing towards the highway shortly after 4:15 a.m. According to authorities, it all began when Justin Francisco, aged 22, stopped his Honda Accord in the southbound left lane just before Exit 10. He had hit a dividing wall and decided to inspect his vehicle.
Within moments, disaster struck as a Subaru driven by a 61-year-old individual collided with Francisco's disabled car while traveling southbound in the same left lane. The impact propelled Francisco's vehicle forward and caused it to slam into him directly. Investigators noted that everything happened so quickly that Francisco was thrown over onto the northbound side of the barrier before being struck again by an oncoming Jeep. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
In light of this tragic incident, the New York State Thruway Authority has issued advice for motorists whose vehicles become disabled on the road. They recommend moving off the roadway to a safe location and tying a white cloth to the left door handle while waiting for assistance.
