Fatal Accident in Wadesville Construction Zone

The Posey County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a tragic accident that occurred within a construction zone, resulting in the loss of life. The incident took place at approximately 9:54 a.m. in Wadesville, according to an official release.

Preliminary investigations conducted by law enforcement officers indicate that a construction worker was tragically backed over by a dump truck while carrying out duties within the construction zone located at State Road 66 and Springfield Road. The area has been designated for pavement replacement, with construction crews actively engaged in grinding up the existing pavement.

Upon receiving reports of the accident, emergency medical services from Posey County promptly arrived on the scene and initiated life-saving measures; however, their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful as the victim succumbed to their injuries.
