Victim Identified in Fatal Accident in Wichita Falls

The Wichita Falls Police Department has released the name of the victim involved in a fatal accident that occurred on Saturday night. According to Sgt. Charlie Eipper, spokesperson for the police department, Christian Moncrief, a 71-year-old resident of Wichita Falls, tragically lost his life in the incident.
The accident took place when Moncrief's 2022 Nissan Rogue veered off Southwest Parkway and collided with a concrete ditch. Eyewitnesses informed law enforcement officials that the Nissan was initially stopped at a red light, facing west on Southwest Parkway at its intersection with Kemp Street. As soon as the light turned green, Moncrief accelerated rapidly and began traveling at an excessive speed.
As he approached a curb along his path, Moncrief's vehicle became airborne before crashing into the ditch below. Due to its high velocity, the car continued moving forward and ultimately entered one of the drainage openings nearby. This caused significant damage to the roof of Mr. Moncrief's Nissan.
Sadly, emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene of the accident. In order to determine further details regarding his passing, authorities have sent Mr. Moncrief's body for an autopsy examination. The WFPD Crash Investigations Unit is currently conducting an investigation into this tragic crash.
