29-Year-Old Man Killed in Akron Car Crash

The man died at the scene. The driver and a passenger were seriously injured.
A man lost his life in a car accident that occurred early on Saturday morning in Akron, Ohio. According to the Akron police, the incident happened around 3 a.m. when a Chevy Equinox driven by a 26-year-old man lost control and crashed into a tree on W. North Street.
The vehicle reportedly went airborne as it crossed over railroad tracks before hitting the tree. The victim was sitting in the rear seat of the car at the time of impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver sustained serious injuries from the crash while a 26-year-old woman who was seated in front passenger seat was ejected from the vehicle during impact. Both were taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have stated that speed and alcohol may have contributed to this tragic accident; however, investigations are still ongoing.
