Fatal Car Crash in Goleta Leaves Driver Dead and Two Passengers Injured

Officials Confirm One Dead and Two Injured in Goleta Car Crash

Officials have confirmed that one person has died and two others have been injured following a car crash in Goleta last night. The driver crashed into a tree at around 11 p.m. on Cathedral Oaks Blvd. Shortly after the car crashed, an explosion caused the car to catch fire. Santa Barbara County Fire, CHP, and Sheriff Officers were at the scene.

The two passengers were male and have been taken to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The driver died in the crash, but officials are waiting to release the gender.

The accident caused a hard road closure in place since 12 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
