Fatal Car Crash in Redwood County, Minnesota: 55-year-old woman and 67-year-old passenger killed

Two fatalities, injuries reported
A tragic accident on Wednesday night has claimed the lives of two individuals after a collision between a 2002 Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Sequoia on Highway 14. The incident occurred at the intersection of Balsa Avenue and Hwy 14.
According to reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of the Sienna was heading south on Balsa Ave while another motorist in the Sequoia was traveling east on Hwy 14 when their vehicles collided at the intersection.
The victims have been identified as a 55-year-old woman who was driving the Sienna and her 67-year-old passenger, both residents of Tracy, Minnesota. Shockingly, it has been reported that only the driver had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact, as no airbags were deployed in their vehicle.
Alcohol does not appear to have played a role in this tragic incident.
The driver of the Sequoia is identified as a 48-year-old man from Walnut Grove, Minnesota with his passenger being a 40-year-old woman also from Walnut Grove. Both sustained injuries due to the crash; however, they were wearing seatbelts and fortunately had airbags deploy upon impact.
While both occupants of the Sequoia survived with injuries, it has been reported that life-threatening injuries were sustained by its driver. The passenger's injuries are considered non-life threatening.
This devastating accident serves as yet another reminder for motorists to prioritize safety measures such as wearing seatbelts and ensuring proper functioning airbags within their vehicles.
