Fatal Collision in Denver, North Carolina: Demarco Jauan Cathcart Pronounced Dead

The State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a tragic collision that occurred in Lincoln County, resulting in the death of one individual. According to highway officials, the incident took place on Unity Church Road at approximately 7:10 PM on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Demarco Jauan Cathcart, aged 27. Reports indicate that Cathcart was driving when he veered off the right side of the road and collided with a tree. Tragically, his vehicle caught fire following the impact.
Cathcart sustained severe injuries from the accident and succumbed to them at the scene before any medical assistance could be provided.
Following an initial investigation into this devastating incident, authorities from the Highway Patrol have determined that excessive speed and reckless driving were contributing factors leading up to this collision.
