26-year-old man killed in collision with semi-truck in Price

26-year-old man pronounced dead, driver of semi-truck and passenger received minor injuries
A tragic accident in Price, Utah claimed the life of a 26-year-old man on Wednesday, July 12. According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the young man was driving southbound on SR-55, also known as Main Street, around 10 p.m. when he ran through a red light and collided with a semi-truck.
The collision occurred at the intersection of SR-55 and 100 North. A Freightliner truck towing a box trailer was traveling eastbound on 100 North at the same time as the Camry entered the intersection. The impact was devastating, striking the passenger side of the Camry broadside.
Despite efforts to save his life, emergency responders were unable to revive him. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck and a passenger in its sleeper berth suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
Authorities are now investigating this fatal crash and considering impairment as a potential factor contributing to it. As part of their investigation process, deputies have restricted access to SR-55 in Price for approximately three hours following the incident for thorough examination and cleanup.
