A tragic accident in Sampson County, North Carolina has claimed the life of a woman and left two others injured. The incident occurred on Basstown Road at around 5:30 p.m.
First responders rushed to the scene where they discovered that a passenger car and an SUV had collided head-on. Tragically, the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased woman has not been released pending notification of her family.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended to the driver of the SUV, providing necessary medical treatment. Additionally, one passenger inside the SUV sustained serious injuries and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for further medical attention.
In light of this devastating crash, authorities closed off Basstown Road from Grady Road to Browns Church Road as they conducted their investigation into what caused this fatal collision.
