Fatal Crash Closes Westbound Circle Drive in Colorado Springs

Tragedy struck on Wednesday afternoon when a car crashed on South Circle Drive, resulting in the driver being ejected and killed. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has stated that it is currently unknown whether speed or impairment played a role in the investigation.
Emergency responders from the CSFD and the CSPD answered a call that forced the closure of westbound Circle Drive. CSPD reported that just before 3 p.m., on Wednesday, August 16, an accident occurred just east of Janitell Road, prompting authorities to close off westbound Circle Drive starting from Hancock Expressway.
CSFD described the incident as a "major traffic accident" and confirmed their involvement in responding to the scene.
Travelers experienced delays due to this unfortunate event while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
