Jacob Crenshaw Killed in Fatal Crash in East Providence

East Providence police have identified the man who lost his life in a crash on Friday night as 24-year-old Jacob Crenshaw from Pawtucket. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when authorities received a report of a serious two-car collision near the intersection of Catlin Ave and Pawtucket Ave.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered one Nissan vehicle on the front lawn of a residence on Pawtucket Ave, while another Nissan remained on the road. Emergency services were called to transport three individuals involved in the accident to Rhode Island Hospital for medical treatment.

Tragically, Jacob Crenshaw, who was a passenger in one of the Nissans, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital. His brother Andrew Crenshaw, aged 27 and driver of their car, sustained severe injuries and is currently listed as being in critical condition.

The driver of the Subaru involved in the crash is reported to be a 22-year-old resident from Providence. Fortunately, they are said to be in stable condition following medical evaluation.

Authorities from East Providence Police Department's Traffic and Crash Reconstruction Unit are working alongside detectives to investigate this tragic incident further. Initial findings suggest that speed may have played a role in causing this fatal collision; however, no charges have been filed at this time.
