Fatal Crash Involving Freightliner Truck Tractor Leaves Tonya Gonzales Dead

One person dead, one person injured
On July 2, a tragic accident occurred in Gregg County, Texas, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving another person injured. The incident involved a Freightliner truck tractor and took place on State Highway 42, approximately one mile south of White Oak.
According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), at around 7:15 p.m., a 2014 Freightliner Truck Tractor was towing a 2012 Heil semi-trailer while traveling south on State Highway 42. At the same time, Tonya Gonzales, aged 50 and from Longview, was driving east in her 2012 Nissan Altima on Texaco Road towards the intersection.
Preliminary investigations conducted by officials revealed that Gonzales failed to stop at the intersection's stop sign. As a result, her vehicle collided with the truck tractor within the intersection. Unfortunately, Gonzales sustained fatal injuries upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of Peace Tim Bryan.
The driver of the truck tractor suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
It is worth noting that according to DPS reports, Tonya Gonzales was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of this devastating accident.
