Fatal Crash on Highway 112 in Mitchell County: Scotty Lloyd Killed

Lloyd was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers in the truck were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Highway 112 in Mitchell County. The incident took place at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Monday when GSP troopers were called by the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office to investigate a two-vehicle collision.
According to officials, the investigation revealed that a Mazda pickup truck with three passengers was being driven by Scotty Lloyd, aged 51. As the vehicle approached a tractor-trailer while navigating a curve on Highway 112 south of Frazier Road, it hydroplaned and caused Lloyd to lose control. Consequently, the pickup truck collided with the front of the tractor-trailer.
Tragically, Scotty Lloyd was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The passengers in his truck were immediately transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.
In order to aid in this investigation, a GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCTR) has been deployed.
