Fatal Crash on Interstate 10 in Tallahassee

One person dead, another critically injured
A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night on Interstate 10 East near Olson Road, resulting in one fatality and another person being critically injured. The crash involved a pickup truck pulling a box trailer and a semi.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the Leon County Sheriffs Office, the collision took place around 5:30 p.m. FHP released a statement late Tuesday night stating that the semi was traveling eastbound on I-10 near mile marker 203. Simultaneously, the pickup truck with the attached box trailer was also heading eastbound ahead of the semi.
For reasons yet unknown, the semi crashed into the pickup truck causing both vehicles to veer off onto the south grass shoulder. The semi came to rest facing south on the shoulder while its trailer ended up parallel to I-10. Meanwhile, the pickup truck came to rest in an east-facing position just within reach of trees along I-10's south shoulder with its detached box trailer overturned nearby.
Tragically, both occupants were ejected from their vehicle during impact. The passenger, a male, succumbed to his injuries at the scene while emergency responders rushed the driver—a 53-year-old man from Jackson, GA—to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
