Man Dies in Head-On Crash on Interstate 95 in Greenwich

Connecticut State Police have reported a tragic incident that occurred early Friday morning on Interstate 95 in Greenwich. According to authorities, a man lost his life in a fatal crash. The accident took place on I-95 North near exit 5 and was initially reported as a motor vehicle collision.
Investigators have determined that the sequence of events began when a car traveling northbound suddenly veered off course and collided with a metal beam guardrail located on the right shoulder. Subsequently, the vehicle crossed all lanes of traffic before crashing into the concrete median barrier. As if this wasn't enough, the car then spun out of control and came to rest directly in front of another vehicle heading southbound, resulting in a head-on collision between the two cars.
Tragically, the driver of the first vehicle involved did not survive their injuries. Identified by police as Colin Kennedy from Stamford, he was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival at medical facilities.
Only minor injuries were sustained by the individual operating the second vehicle. They were promptly transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Law enforcement officials are actively investigating all aspects surrounding this devastating crash. At present time no further details regarding potential causes or contributing factors have been released publicly.
