Derrick Francis Lomax Dies in Fatal Crash Involving Moped and Dump Truck in Greenville

One Person Dead in South Carolina Moped Crash
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident that occurred on Tuesday in Greenville County. According to the troopers, a 2020 Bintelli Moped was driving west on Toledo Street at around noon when it collided with a dump truck.
The incident happened after the dump truck pulled into a private area off Toldeo Street, leaving its back partially blocking the westbound lane of Toledo Street. The moped driver hit the back portion of the dump truck and died instantly at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Derrick Francis Lomax, 51, from Greenville. The Greenville County Coroner's Office confirmed that Lomax was not wearing a helmet during the crash. An autopsy report is scheduled for Wednesday.
