A tragic accident in Bay County, Florida has claimed the life of a man after a fatal crash involving a pick-up truck and a school bus. The incident was reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to authorities, the accident occurred on Monday when troopers responded to reports of a head-on collision. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators discovered that the school bus had been traveling southbound on State Road 77 towards Spikes Road. Simultaneously, a pick-up truck was heading northbound.
The investigation revealed that at some point during their respective journeys, the pick-up truck crossed over the grass median and entered into the path of travel for the school bus. Despite attempts by the bus driver to avoid a collision through evasive action, they were unable to prevent it from occurring.
Tragically, upon arrival at the scene of this devastating crash, first responders pronounced the driver of the pick-up truck dead. Meanwhile, emergency services transported the bus driver to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during this harrowing incident.
Fortunately, there were no students aboard the school bus at the time of the accident.
