Fatal Crash Involving Semi-Truck in Eagle, Cass County: Geronimo Hernandez Killed

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday in Cass County, resulting in the death of a 43-year-old man. The incident took place at the intersection of Highway 34 and E First Street in Eagle.
According to authorities, deputies promptly responded to the crash scene. Investigators determined that a silver Mazda CX-7, driven by Geronimo Hernandez, was heading southbound on Highway 34 and attempted to enter the intersection but failed to yield the right of way.
Tragically, as Hernandez's vehicle entered the intersection, it was struck by a semi-truck traveling westbound on Highway 34. The impact proved fatal for Hernandez who was pronounced dead at the scene. Thankfully, the driver of the semi-truck escaped unharmed.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of this devastating collision.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating this incident further to determine all factors contributing to this tragedy.
