Death of the sole occupant of the Dodge RAM
A tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning in Westfield, Indiana, resulting in the death of a man. The incident involved two vehicles and took place on U.S. 31 northbound near the 161st Street bridge.
The Westfield Police Department received a call around 7 a.m. reporting a collision between a white Dodge RAM and a black Toyota RAV4. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that the Dodge RAM had crashed into the east embankment of the bridge.
Tragically, the sole occupant of the Dodge RAM, an adult male whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. The cause of death is believed to be related to injuries sustained during the crash.
As a result of this fatal accident, all northbound lanes on U.S. 31 were closed for several hours while investigators worked to gather evidence and clear debris from the roadway.
Fortunately, those inside the Toyota RAV4 escaped unharmed during this unfortunate incident according to statements made by WPD officials. However, it remains unclear how many individuals were present inside that vehicle at the time of impact.
