One Person Dead in Jefferson Township Crash
A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson Township, leaving one person dead. According to a media release from the local authorities, deputies were called to the 7600 block of Dayton Liberty Road just after 2:30 p.m. following reports of an injury crash.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that a red truck had collided head-on with an AES pole. An initial investigation found that the truck was traveling westbound on Dayton Liberty Road when it crossed over the center line and into the eastbound lane. The vehicle then veered off-road and hit both an AES pole and a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene; their identity has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
