Fatal Crash on Loop 101 in Scottsdale Leaves One Dead

One person died, two others expected to be okay
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash occurred on Loop 101 in Scottsdale on Sunday, June 25. The incident took place at around 6:45 p.m. when troopers responded to reports of a two-car collision in the northbound lanes near Mountain View Road.
The driver of a pickup truck reportedly rear-ended an SUV causing both vehicles to veer off the right side of the roadway. The pickup truck rolled over into a canal east of the roadway resulting in the death of its driver who was declared deceased on-scene by authorities.
Meanwhile, the SUV got tangled up in the freeway's guardrail but fortunately had two passengers who are expected to be okay. As per DPS officials, "impairment has not been ruled out" as a factor that may have contributed to this tragic accident.
No further details about either vehicle or their occupants have been released yet and no identification has been made for the deceased driver.
