Cesar Gomez Lucio Killed in Fatal Crash in Lubbock, Texas

One person died and several others were injured.
A fatal car crash occurred on State Road 39 northwest of Logan early Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of Cesar Gomez Lucio, a 35-year-old resident of Hobbs. According to New Mexico State Police (NMSP), Gomez Lucio was driving southbound on State Road 39 when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2014 Toyota Sienna van.
The driver of the Toyota Sienna and four other adult passengers were injured but are expected to survive. NMSP reported that "Gomez Lucio was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol appears to be a factor." Unfortunately, he died at the scene due to his injuries sustained from the accident.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
